Student Scholarships and Fellowships
Arnold Kurtz Student Achievement Scholarship
The Arnold Kurtz Student Achievement Scholarship recognizes exceptional
achievements and accomplishments of Fox MIS students. The scholarship was
created to honor the memory of
Arnold Kurtz.
- Award
Annual $2,000 scholarship to continuing high performing MIS students who
demonstrate exceptional achievement and accomplishment. Recipients are selected by the Institute for Business and Information Technology.
Recipients will be recognized at the annual Fox School IT Awards Reception.
- Eligibility
Continuing students registered as MIS majors in any MIS undergraduate or
masters level program.
- Criteria
Minimum cumulative GPA of 3.3 or higher and exceptional achievement.
The achievement should be an exceptional accomplishment beyond standard
curriculum and course requirements. For example, exceptional community
service or an exceptionally innovative project in a class.
- Deadline
Please submit the
application
by 4:30pm of the first business day after spring break each year.
Information Technology Leaders
Scholarship Fund
The IBIT IT Leaders Scholarship Fund recognizes the academic performance and leadership of Fox School MIS students.
IBIT IT Leader $4,000 Scholarship Award (continuing students)
- Award
Annual $4,000 scholarship to a continuing high performing MIS student who demonstrates exceptional leadership. Recipients are selected by the Institute for Business and Information Technology. Recipients will be recognized at the annual Fox School IT Awards Reception.
- Eligibility
Continuing student registered as an MIS major in the BBA undergraduate program.
- Criteria
Academic performance: Cumulative GPA of 3.3 or higher
Leadership: Letters of recommendation that address the contributions of the student and leadership potential.

Please submit the application
by 4:30pm of the first business day after spring break each year.
AMIS Student Achievement Scholarship
The AMIS Student Achievement Scholarship recognizes the academic performance and leadership of Fox MIS students who actively participate in the student organization.
- Award
Up to a $1,000 scholarship to a continuing high performing MIS student who demonstrate exceptional leadership
and/or academic achievement. Recipients are selected by an AMIS committee and will be recognized at the annual
Fox School IT Awards Reception.
- Eligibility
Continuing student registered as an MIS major in the BBA undergraduate program who is also a member of AMIS.
- Criteria
Academic performance: Cumulative GPA of 3.0 or higher
Leadership: Write a one paragraph summary of your accomplishments at Temple and include reasons why you deserve the award.
Achievement: Write a one paragraph summary on an exceptional accomplishment beyond standard curriculum and course requirements. For example, exceptional community service or an exceptionally innovative project in a class.

Institute for Business and Information Technology Research Fellowship
The IBIT Research Fellowship
provides research funding for exceptional PhD in MIS students.
IBIT Research Fellowship $3,000 (new students)
- Award
Annual $1,000 research fund for new
PhD in MIS students. The
fellowship is renewable each year for two additional years based on the
students academic performance and overall achievement in the program. The
research fund can be used for travel, research expenses, or computing
equipment. Recipients are selected by the MIS department.
Unused funds can be carried over each year but must be used before
graduation.
- Eligibility
New entering students admitted as PhD in MIS students to the Fox School
PhD in Business Administration program.
- Criteria
Academic credentials such as test scores and potential for research
achievement as evidenced by previous accomplishments and recommendations.
The fellowship is only awarded to exceptional students and is a recognition
of your previous accomplishments and research potential.
- Deadline
There is no formal deadline, fellowships are awarded on a rolling basis
each year. To be considered for the fellowship please contact the
MIS PhD
Coordinator.
